About our Founders

We’re Matt and Kimberly Litterell—husband and wife, parents of seven, and wholehearted followers of Christ.
Our greatest passion is raising up the next generation of Kingdom-minded conquerors—starting with our own children—and building a community where families can grow, thrive, and stand strong together in faith.

Let’s be real—parenting seven kids is joyful and wild, but it also means we understand how hard some days can be. The chaos. The exhaustion. The struggle to connect with your spouse or even remember what community feels like. Refuge Tulsa was born out of that very real place.

God placed a vision on our hearts: to create a Christ-centered community modeled after the early Church—interconnected, authentic, and practical. Refuge Tulsa is a place where we do life together. Where meals are shared, burdens are lifted, prayers are spoken out loud, and everyone has a place at the table.

We’re here to help you take steps toward peace and purpose. Whether it's through hands-on workshops like affordable meal planning or DIY laundry detergent, or through deeper opportunities for spiritual growth, personal development, and even counseling—we walk with you toward wholeness.

At Refuge Tulsa, it’s not about perfection—it’s about presence. God’s presence. Each other’s presence. And the relentless pursuit of being better followers of Christ, better spouses, better parents… and better humans.

Welcome home. Let’s grow together.
